CLERKENWELL  This project had my toughest client, me, its my home.  I bought this lateral conversion flat 18 years ago and for the past 16 years I rented it out. When the last tenant moved out I decided to move back in, but this time instead of living here on my own, I now have a daughter and a partner to share the space with me. So I decided to completely revamp the space so that it works for our needs as a family. Clever storage was key both to store and to display. The colour palette was simple white, grey with accents of colour. The high white walls are perfect for framing our collection of paintings. The bathroom was given a luxury feel, a utility room was created in the form of a utility cupboard, the bedrooms have concealed storage to create a feeling of calm and the kitchen was carefully planned to maximise storage and worktop space, whilst still providing display shelves for copper pans and glassware. I approached the project in the same way I approach every project, with a clear idea of what I want to achieve, a clear budget and a clear timetable. I’m pleased to say working with my trusted team of builders I achieved the look, came in on budget and actually finished a few days ahead of schedule. So one happy client and one happy family.
